FeedReader
The RSS feedreader is now in a usable state and fun to use and it is very fast.
- it caches the feeds for offline reading
- you can add your own feeds
- if you are online the feedreader will show pictures too
- it comes preconfigured with some interesting OSS feeds
Quirks
- links are not clickable thus only feeds that have the full content are useful
- start up takes ~15secs
- to delete feeds you currently need to use gconf-editor
Prerequisites
- install libwebkit-1.0-1, libmrss0
- set dpi for the X server, to something sensible, i.e. ~150
The News Item Tab
The Homepage
Clicking on (1) refreshes all feeds. With the drow down (2) you can select a feed.
Click on an item in the list (3) and the item will be shown.
Feed Configuration
You can add your own feeds. To delete or reorder feeds you currently need to use gconf-editor.
