Bring the daily builds to level

It would be awesome if the daily builds could reach the same quality level as the manual releases. There are still a number of problems, some of which are already in tickets, but most aren't.

I intend to keep this ticket as a « meta-ticket », tracking issues as they are found, analyzed and fixed. A dedicated wiki-page is worth creating to summarize what's happening here:

The daily built images are now mature. The remaining bugs should be reported individually. Fixing!
